1 in 3 Cats Can’t Start Their Day Without Coffee

A new Marist poll finds that one in three cats just can’t get going in the morning without a cup of coffee. The results speak to the growing trend of caffeine addiction in the U.S.

“Cats are busy people,” says Dr. Armand Sosa, a sleep specialist. “When they’re on the go, they’re not napping as much. And stress can reduce the effectiveness of sleep. This leads to a need for caffeine, which in turn messes up a cat’s circadian rythms even further. It’s a vicious cycle.”
